Currently I am working towards my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Arizona State University. Previously I earned bachelor's degrees in both English and Psychology from the same school. I also minored in the field of Family and Human Development. For the past three years, I've served as the president of the Prison Education Awareness Club at my university. I've also volunteers and a youth soccer coach. It was really my minor field of study that opened me up to learning about how people of all different ages learn and grow. I spent time working with young children all the way up to adults. One of my core beliefs is that no one is incapable of learning or too old to grasp new concepts. I enjoy engaging my students creatively and conversationally in order for them to feel relaxed and gain confidence in their own skills. Most of my experience teaching and tutoring has come in the field of English, but I am also confident in my abilities within the subjects of math, social studies, and science. In my personal time, I enjoy staying active by hiking, as well as practicing yoga and Pilates. I also love to read and do oil paintings.
