Experience
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at Brigham Young University. I became a teacher because of my desire to help others discover a passion for learning. My teaching experience has allowed me to connect with students of various learning styles and backgrounds, and I have learned to teach to each student's interests and personality.Aside from serving as a certified teacher, my experience includes volunteering as a tutor for community and school outreach programs like Best Buddies, Peer Assistance Leaders, and Seeds of Success. I also taught many different people during a service mission. As I prepared to teach 1st and 5th grades, I received formal training in modern teaching strategies covering all subjects. Because of my additional, focused instruction in Phonics, reading became the subject I enjoy teaching the most. Among the other subjects I tutor are Reading, Writing, and Math for 1st through 6th grades; Science for 3rd through 6th grades; Elementary Algebra, Pre-Algebra, and Study Skills.I am a proud mother and wife, and in my spare time, I enjoy architectural design, yoga, cooking, hiking, and learning Portuguese.
